Nursery

The children have learned about Jackson Pollock and his splatter paintings. We used marbles in a box and rolled them around to make the paint splatter.

The children have been singing heads, shoulders, knees and toes and learning about our bodies. We painted some pictures and talked about our faces and our features.

This is our learning journey from this half term. We have been focusing on ourselves and our feelings.

This half term the children have learned about Autumn. We have gone on walks, looked at materials and read books to know what happens in Autumn. We then learned about Christmas. We performed our Nativity and learned about Jesus' birth. We sang lots of Christmas songs, had a party and met Santa!

This half term we started by making New Years Resolutions and thinking about something we want to learn or do this year. Then we learned about fairytales. We have looked at Jack and the beanstalk, The Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We chopped down the beanstalk, made gingerbread and tested to see if porridge was sweet or salty. It was fun!

This half term our topic has been ‘People Who Help Us’. We have learned about police officers, vets and doctors as well as having a few visits from the police and a dentist! We then thought about what we want to be when we grow up. During the last week we discussed Easter. We learned about the Christian story of Jesus’ resurrection and we also discussed the Easter bunny, went on an Easter egg hunt and made ‘nests’ out of chocolate and rice crispies! We have had lots of fun this term and can’t wait for the summer term.
