Uniform Information

School Uniform and PE Kit

An important feature of Galton Valley Primary School is the support that parents give to the encouragement of the school uniform. Uniform gives the children a sense of belonging and pride and prevents comparisons being made between one child's clothes and another. We invite your continued co- operation in the school’s dress code and provision of the school uniform.

Please ensure all personal items are clearly labelled with the child's name.

Girls’ and boys’ uniform:

Royal blue round neck sweat shirt and/or fleece with school badge or royal blue cardigan, white polo t-shirt, grey smart school trousers or grey skirt/pinafore dress and smart black sensible shoes. Socks or tights to be worn all year round. Please Note: No trainers, wellington boots or heels to be worn in school

Summer options: smart grey school shorts, blue gingham summer dress, smart white sensible sandals worn with socks

For September 2017, all girls, who wear hijabs, are to wear a royal blue or black hijab in line with school uniform colours.

P.E Uniform:

This needs to be in school throughout the school term, each week

1. A PE bag.
2. Black Plimsolls - preferably elasticated and with your child’s name written in.
3. Plain black Shorts.
4. Plain white T-shirt
5. Swimming costume and towel for all children in Years 3 to 6

School jumpers and fleeces, PE shorts and t-shirts are available to purchase from the school office.

Hairstyles:

Smart traditional hair styles. No extremes of hairstyles are permitted eg: no lines or patterns and no artificial colouring.

Jewellery:

All pupils are allowed to wear a watch and to wear one pair of ear studs. Governors will not accept responsibility for any injuries caused by the wearing of ear studs. Other items of jewellery should not be brought to school as the wearing of jewellery can be a safety hazard. Valuables should not be brought to school as the school cannot be responsible in the case of the loss of such items.
